SEND Department Support - Gateshead
The Education Network is currently working in partnership with a school in Gateshead in search of a qualified teacher to support the SEND department. The role is initially temporary ongoing, to commence in April 2021, however there is scope for the role to become permanent for the right candidate.
The successful applicant will support the school's SEND Manager to arrange provisions for learners with special educational needs. The post holder will also be expected to cover lessons of English and Life Skills, therefore experience of teaching either of these subjects would be advantageous.
Requirements for the role of SEND Support:
- QTS or other UK recognised Teaching qualification.
- Proven experience of working with learners with special educational needs.
- Experience teaching English or Life Skills.
- Awareness of the resources available to learners with special educational needs.
- A degree in a relevant subject.
- Experience in the classroom.
- Have strong interpersonal skills in order to effectively communicate with staff, parents and students.
- Have excellent organisational and time management skills.
