Family Liaison/Pastoral Support Teacher
Location: St Helens-3 days per week

The Education Network is looking to appoint a Teacher/Tutor for a unique and exciting new role working in and around the St Helens area. You will be working with students who have disengaged from education, to help rebuild their relationship, and begin a tailored programme of re-engagement-eventually moving back to full education provision. You will be required to work in the home working with both the student and the parents/carers, overcoming barriers to learning, enabling all students to have full access to educational opportunities. You will also be required to initiate some lessons on a 1:1 basis both at home and through Teams. You will take a holistic approach to education and reflect the importance of emotional well-being as central to the developmental and mental health needs of all children in their daily practice. On receipt of referrals from parents and school you will talk with children experiencing difficulties and liaise with families, school and the LA to reflect the concerns of the child.
As a unique role, this may suit someone from a traditional (SEND) teaching background, or from a more pastoral background. You will have experience of working with others to overcome strong emotional barriers.
As the role involves working from students homes, you must have access to your own car.

In return you will:
Be part of an outstanding team
Enjoy variety in your role
Make a difference!

Also, whilst working for The Education Network you will have access to:
-A designated Consultant, providing support throughout your assignment(s)
-Ongoing, free CPD via Educare-a nationally recognised education training provider:
-Example Courses:
Safeguarding Young People
