The Education Network is Cheshire's leader in providing 1-1 Tutors to students not accessing full time education. We work directly with mainstream, SEN schools as well as 5 local authorities and this is expanding at a rapid rate, specifically within the Runcorn/Widnes area. As such we are looking to build upon our current bank of 1:1 Tutors. At present we have a high demand for Tutors who can deliver core subject areas-particularly Maths, English & Science.
Many of the students we support on a 1-1 basis have mild/ moderate learning difficulties and/or SEMH. Students maybe awaiting a new school placement, be on a short term or permanent exclusion from school or moved borough and no suitable provision is available. We also support students who attend PRU's who are on a part time alternative provision timetable etc.
The majority are KS3- KS5 and many are dis-engaged, having not attended school for some time and as such can display challenging behaviour, or may have certain emotional barriers to learning. As a result, we are seeking Tutors with a background in working hard to re-engage students back into education, who have a flexible approach and are resilient to facing challenging types of behaviour.
Some students come with at times with very little or no academic background, so we need Tutors who can (if required) to perform basic baseline assessments to ascertain working levels and plan for sessions moving forward. Ideal tutors will have their own resources/ bag of goodies as we say! Useful links can be provided. This can be a very rewarding role and suits Tutors who are seeking a part time table to possibly compliment another part time role, childcare commitments, studies or simply just because you prefer to teach on a 1-1 basis!
If you have a passion for working with students 1-1 and live/ can access the Runcorn/Widnes area along with meeting the criteria above, then we want to hear from you. To express an interest, please call Claire or Eileen for an informal chat on 01925 247820 or apply to this advert if you prefer.
