SEND Teaching Assistant (SEMH)
Location - Wilmslow, Cheshire, UK
SEND Teaching Assistant required providing support to pupils working in mainstream classes and the nurture group of this highly respected high school. You will have an understanding of the difficulties facing young people and be able to support them with any mental health concerns/issues. You will have the ability to guide and support the students in order to access all aspects of the curriculum. The role is to commence ASAP, full time-5 days a week Monday to Friday, 8.30am-3.30pm. The role is initially until the end of the academic year, but could potentially continue beyond this time. Other similar roles are available in specific SEND schools throughout Cheshire-as well as mainstream SEND Departments in both the Primary & Secondary areas.
You will work under the guidance of teaching staff, to support the student in and out of the classroom. You should have good communication skills as you will have to liaise between both the student and class teachers.

- Have previous experience of working in a similar environment
- Ideally have previous SEMH experience
- A willingness to participate in relevant training and development opportunities
- Be keen to learn and develop professionally
- Be able to work on their own initiative
