Macmillan Coffee Morning Exceeds Expectations

Let’s be honest, you clicked here to look at pictures of cake… and that’s exactly what you are going to get! Oh, and we managed to raise £465 for an amazing cause!

Thank you to The Education Network and Pertemps Birmingham who baked tirelessly to raise funds for Macmillan. Friday the 29th of September saw a bake-off epic proportions, one that would make Paul Hollywood faint with excitement! From sprinkle cake to sausage role, we had it all!

Congratulations to Elisha Tomlison who brought home the illustrious first place in the Birmingham Bake-Off with her decadent Chocolate Orange Cake, she battered the competition, whipped them into shape and cracked a few eggs to lift the trophy.

Better luck next time Chloe Rowland and Danielle Allen who came in close second with their Sprinkle Cake and Billionaire Shortbread.  This amazing total could not have been achieved without some brilliant baking and everyone who donated. I am sure that everyone will agree that the cake was well worth it. After setting an initial target of £150 we were blown away by the final result!

“Amazing! Absolutely amazing. Not only did we have a brilliant day, sample some incredible baked goods, AND have fun! We also raised over three times the amount that we were aiming for. Thank you to everyone who took part, even if no one voted for my ginger cake! “

Harry Chase – Director, The Education Network Birmingham
