Learning Support Assistant

Are you a Learning Support Assistant who has experience working with challenging behaviour? Do you want to inspire and motivate students? This might be the role for you. We are working closely with an Alternative Provision that enables students to get back into mainstream education.

As a Learning Support Assistant you will be working closely with students that have been excluded from mainstream education.  Your aim is to inspire and motivate students to engage with lessons and continue their academic journey. The school operates a “Golden Time” system for students, allowing you to take part in and lead fun, engaging and rewarding activities, both onsite and at resource centres!

Duties of a Learning Support Assistant:

  • Working 1-2-1 with students
  • Making learning fun for disengaged students
  • Providing support to teaching staff when needed
  • Building rapport and trust with students
  • Leading on fun classroom activities

Ideally, you will:

  • Have experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or Teaching Assistant
  • Have worked with challenging behaviour
  • Be able to break down barriers to communication
  • Have a calm, patient and positive approach
  • Be able to challenge students when required
