The Education Network are seeking hard-working and resilient individuals to work as a Learning Support Assistant in one of our partnership schools in North Tyneside supporting children with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD). This reputable school caters for these specific needs and are currently looking to recruit dedicated Learning Support Assistants to work as part of their team and provide high-quality assistance for pupils in order to maximise each and every child’s potential.
Successful Learning Support Assistants will be helping children access education in environments tailored to their specific needs, and will therefore need be empathetic and patient in their approach.
Successful Learning Support Assistants will:
- Have recent and relevant experience in a similar role, ideally supporting children with Autism; we accept applicants with relevant backgrounds such as mainstream education/nursing/care.
- Possess vital transferrable skills required to be able to support children with Autism, including patience, resilience, confidence, and a calm and nurturing approach.
- Be able to assist learning on a 1:1 or group basis – depending on the requirement.
- Have experience of handling challenging behaviour effectively.
- Possess an enhanced DBS certificate, or be willing to obtain one.
