Opportunity – Head of School/Head Teacher

Due to internal promotion, an opportunity has been created within this specialist setting for a Head of School/Head Teacher.  You will be responsible for the whole of school development and for ensuring that teaching and learning standards are maintained in line with Ofsted and DfE requirements.

Primary brief:-

  • Creating teaching and learning strategy for whole of school
  • Liaison with stakeholders and third parties to include social services, children’s services, parents, guardians  and LEA
  • Responsible for recruitment, training and development of teaching and support staff
  • Working closely with Governors in support of teaching, learning and overall school attainment
  • Working with teaching staff to evaluate pupil progress, agree on education strategies and provide support as required
  • Develop solid working relationships with staff across whole of school
  • Continue development of curriculum content to increase attainment levels
  • Working with specialist support staff internal and external to meet individual pupil learning objectives
  • Developing “out of class” curriculum from a suite of outdoor activities and partnerships
  • Creating good financial strategies to maximise relationships with supporting partnerships to include budgets and Governor reporting
  • Provide inspirational leadership giving the team/school real purpose
  • Create, implement and continual develop education strategies, policies and procedures to maximise learning for pupils of all abilities
  • Make learning fun, understand that children with barriers to learning can learn effectively in an environment  that provides support and nurture
  • Take pride in the progress of the school and the children it supports

You will be:-

  • Show real capacity for teaching and learning objectives
  • QTS Teacher any core subject with in-depth curriculum knowledge
  • A team player and leader
  • Happy to lead the school to try new things, embracing alternative learning techniques
  • Most importantly you will be someone who shows real passion in supporting the learning initiatives required to support these children with barriers to learning that just need lifting


We appreciate that you are busy with the run-up to the end of term, and so we are in the office from 7am-7pm, as well as being on call of an evening and over the weekend too.
