The Education Network are working with a Primary School to recruit a Caretaker to join their team on a temporary and potentially permanent basis. The successful person must have practical experience and knowledge of facilities, maintenance, repair, security Issues, Health and Safety and appropriate training.
The successful person must be hardworking, highly organised and methodical, with excellent attention given to detail. The ability to step in for the site manager, deal with urgent matters calmly and priorities a busy workload is essential. You will also be expected to meet deadlines efficiently whilst dealing with interruptions.
For this post, you will be dealing with a variety of people at all levels, so you must be an effective communicator, with good interpersonal skills and a willingness to work as part of a team and the flexibility to work after school.
The following are the main responsibilities:
* General cleaning
* Seasonal Maintenance
* Heating, Ventilation and Plant
* Regular checks of all buildings
* Sub Contractors
Flexibility in working hours would be a real advantage. As the school could have lettings in the evenings and at weekends, it would be good if candidates were happy to work the odd Saturday or Sunday or work later in the evening. This would be compensated either through overtime payment or the ability to start later (when working later for example).
Typical hours would be 30-35/week with potential overtime
It is really important that applicants who apply have a reasonable level of handy skills such as carpentry, plumbing, painting/decorating etc.
