The Education Network is seeking to recruit a calm, hard-working and resilient Learning Support Assistant to work in one of our excellent partner schools based in Sunderland beginning in October 2019. This lovely school is seeking a confident and nurturing Learning Support Assistant to assist learners with ASD in both 1:1 and group capacities. The successful candidate will ideally have experience of supporting individuals with ASD, and the capacity to deal with challenging and varying behaviours effecitvely.

Successful candidates will:
- Have recent and relevant experience in a similar role, ideally supporting children with Autism; we accept applicants with a background in mainstream education/nursing/care.
- Possess vital transferrable skills required to be able to support children with Autism, including patience, resilience, confidence, and a calm and nurturing approach.
- Be able to assist learning on a 1:1 or group basis – depending on the requirement.
- Have experience of handling challenging behaviour effectively.
- Possess an enhanced DBS certificate, or be willing to obtain one.
It is desirable (but not essential) that candidates have experience of:
- Team Teach
- Moving and Handling
- Autism Awareness
- Personal Care
