Job Details

Learning Mentor required to work on a 1-2-1 basis with a Key Stage 3 student that is no longer in mainstream education. We are looking for a creative, engaging and caring Learning Mentor to work with this student who attends an Alternative Provision. This role requires someone who is able to demonstrate good behaviour management, the ability to develop rapport, and patience.


I have worked with this school for many years and have always received positive feedback from staff. The leadership are proactive, and the team are always welcoming. They have a student centred approach and always go above and beyond. With small classes, this is a great environment in which to work.


Job Role:

  • Inspiring and motivating students that have faced barriers to learning
  • Building rapport with students, getting to know their individual needs
  • Managing behaviour and implementing positive reinforcement
  • Keeping students engaged, both in the classroom and on educational excursions
  • Making a difference

Ideally, you will:

  • Have experience working as a Learning Mentor / Teaching Assistant
  • Be able to work with challenging behaviour
  • Have recent experience working with Special Educational Needs
  • Be resilient, confident and empathetic towards students’ needs
