Are you an Learning Support Assistant who is determined to inspire young people? Have you been successful in working with challenging behaviour? We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join the team at a local Alternative Provision that caters for students with additional Social Emotional and Mental Health Needs. If you are a resilient, motivated and dedicated LSA, this might be the role for you.

Most schools have a primary focus on exam results, this school is focused on guiding its students through their educational journey. Staff are outstanding and are fully committed to making a difference. You will have the opportunity to work closely with teaching staff and mentors who go above and beyond for their students.


  • Working 1-2-1 with students
  • Making learning fun for disengaged students
  • Providing support to teaching staff when needed
  • Building rapport and trust with students
  • Leading on fun classroom activities 

Ideally, you will:

  • Have experience working as a Learning Mentor or Teaching Assistant
  • Have worked with challenging behaviour
  • Be able to break down barriers to communication
  • Have a calm, patient and positive approach
  • Be able to challenge students when required
