Business and ICT teacher Manchester

The Education Network in Manchester are working with a large academy in Manchester to recruit a teacher of Business and ICT to start in September 2019. This is a long term role and would be suitable for either an NQT or an experienced teacher, with a TLR available for a suitable candidate who is looking for additional responsibilities and could take on Head of Sixth Form responsibilities. If you are looking to work in a progressive, forward-thinking school where pupils are extremely keen to learn, then this could be the perfect role for you.
You will be required to teach Business at KS4 and KS5, with some additional ICT teaching. The school offers an extensive programme of enrichment activities as part of its timetable, so it is expected that you will be able to contribute to this aspect of the school's life.
Although this is a large academy, the school is close knit and they strive to consistently deliver good results. Pupils make good progress and this is due to the fact that staff in the school share good practice and are very supportive of one another. There is a robust behaviour policy and staff work hard to maintain good classroom management
CPD is well-planned, with personalized elements to support teachers at different stages of their career. If you are an NQT, then you will have access to an outstanding induction and mentoring programme throughout your first year.
You will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), after completing a PGCE, Graduate Teaching Program (GTP), Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), QTLS or equivalent overseas teaching qualification
Ideally have prior experience of teaching across KS3 and KS4 and possibly KS5 (NQTs should refer to their placement experience when applying)
Be able to engage pupils through stimulating and interactive lessons
Have a dedicated and creative approach when planning lessons and delivering learning activities
Differentiate effectively, ensuring that the needs of all learners are met, including those pupils on the EAL and SEN registers
Promote positive behaviour and use a range of behaviour management strategies effectively
Have a positive work ethic, demonstrating a commitment to your own development and a willingness to share good practice

If you think you have what it takes to succeed in this or similar roles, please apply by sending your CV and covering letter to or call Carl or Katy on 0161 234 9960.
