SEN Teaching Assistant (MLD/EBD)
Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistants are required at a large specialist academy in North Manchester. This academy is 11-16 aged students who are from the local area.
Teachers have high expectations and aspirations for students. They also have good subject knowledge and use it to set work which is engaging and challenging. As a result, students enjoy their learning and are keen to do well.
As a SEN TA it is vital that you are patient, understanding and compassionate. You will experience a variety of challenges on a daily basis so it is very important you can react and use your initiative. This would be a good role if you have worked with younger children or young adults who have specific additional needs and you now want to work in an educational setting.
Candidates must have:
Experience with children with similar needs
Previous SEN TA experience
Knowledge of additional needs including ASC, SEBD, SEMH, Dyslexia or Dyspraxia
Interest in working with children
A positive and enthusiastic approach
