Are you a SEN Teacher who is experienced in dealing with Challenging Behaviour?

The Education Network are working with a PRU in Lowestoft who are looking for a flexible and adaptable SEN Teacher. The school predominantly works with KS4 students who are unable to access mainstream education due to a variety of MLD, SEHM and SpLD Needs. Each student is given a bespoke curriculum to suit their own needs, for this reason you would be required teach a range of subjects up to GCSE level. As well as teaching the core subjects the school provides a wider curriculum including work-related learning, cookery and sports lessons.

The school is a 'Good School' that is led effectively by the Senior Leadership Team. The school has made rapid progress towards improving behaviour and attendance in recent years and this is supported with a clear behaviour policy. There is a strong sense of community spirit due to the small class sizes and high level of contact time. The Local Authority provides helpful support which is well valued by the staff and Management Team.

The school is looking for:

  • A SEN Teacher with the ability to teach a range of subjects - knowledge of core subjects is desirable.
  • Previous work experience in a PRU or mainstream Secondary School with challenging behaviour.
  • A teacher who can form effective working relationships with both students and support staff.
