One of our lovely partnership primary schools in Gateshead is currently seeking an enthusiastic, resilient and hardworking Teaching Assistant to join them on a full-time basis until the summer. The successful candidate will be dividing their time between two SEN children on a 1:1 basis and will provide both 1:1 interventions and specialised in-class support.
This is a modern, well-resourced primary school in the heart of Gateshead where the staff work as a strong team to ensure that the children are given the best possible chance to succeed; the successful Teaching Assistant should therefore aim to become a valued part of this fantastic school community for the duration of their stay.
We will accept applications from both experienced Teaching Assistants and recently qualified practitioners who have experience providing targeted support to help SEN children reach their potential.
Successful candidates MUST:
* Hold a Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent)
* Have recent and relevant experience supporting SEN children in UK primary schools
* Possess excellent behaviour management skills and the ability to build strong professional rapports with children and staff
* Be able to effectively assist the children on a 1:1, small group or whole class basis in line with what the teacher has directed
* Have a full understanding of safeguarding procedures and the responsibilities of a Primary Teaching Assistant
*Have a solid understanding of different strategies to support children with a variety of SEN
* A full driving licence and own transport are desirable
