Science Teacher - Gateshead
On behalf of our partnership school 'Gateshead the Education Network are looking for a talented and enthusiastic teacher of Science. Due to long term absence the school require a suitable teacher to work on a full time basis from January until July 2019. The post is initially temporary however has the opportunity to go permanent from September 2019 due to a retirement within the department.
The school is well known for being one of the most reputable and successful within the borough of Gateshead. From the most recent Ofsted inspection the school was classified as 'Outstanding' in all areas. Although behaviour is excellent, the successful candidate will poses excellent behaviour management skills in order to maintain high expectations of students. The successful candidate will be joining a committed and supportive department. The Maths department has always been one of the strongest departments within the school, therefore it is expected that the successful candidate will be able to maintain high levels of teaching and demonstrate 'good' to 'outstanding' teaching.
The school is home to over 1200 pupils between the ages of 11-18; with an attached Sixth Form it is advantageous for applicants to hold relevant KS5 experience. However this is not a fundamental requirement as the majority of the timetable would involve teaching KS3-4. Due to recent expansions and rejuvenation of the school teachers can expect to have the highest quality of resources available to them. This includes top of the range interactive white boards and VEO (Video Enhancement Observation) which allows members of staff to observe and analyse their own lessons.
Requirements for this role:
- QTS or other UK recognised Teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching Science at KS3-4
- A degree in a relevant subject.
- Experience in the classroom
-Have strong interpersonal skills in order to effectively communicate with staff, parents and students.
- Have excellent organisational and time management skills.
